American DG Energy Inc. (www.americandg.com) is the leading On-Site Utility offering clean electricity, heat, hot water and cooling to many types of businesses in the Northeast United States. We sell the energy produced on-site as an alternative to the outright sale of energy equipment. We design, install, own, operate, maintain and optimize complete combined heat and power (CHP or cogeneration) and chiller cooling systems tailored to a customer's specific site requirements. Our "no cost, no responsibility, no risk, just savings" approach makes saving from on-site energy straightforward and easy. Customers sign agreements (typically 15 years) and pay only for the energy they need and use. Our monthly invoices include a guaranteed discount rate below a customer's prevailing local utility energy rates on the energy we sell. There are no capital costs or operating expenses for the customer. As soon as we begin producing energy on-site, customers typically realize enhanced cash flow and increased net income. They also receive direct operational gains because there is no impact on the property's staffing, overhead or balance sheet.
By outsourcing the ownership, management and financing of their energy systems to American DG Energy, customers enjoy the significant economic benefits of distributed electricity, heat generation and cooling systems without requiring capital investment, specialized in-house technical skills and manpower, operational responsibility or ownership. While American DG Energy primarily owns the energy systems by itself, it is open to create joint ventures of co-ownership with its customers that have the necessary capital resources or simply provide turnkey installation services. We provide all elements of a project including: site evaluation, financing, engineering, project management, installation, communications, start-up, service, operation performance optimization, fuel purchasing, utility relations and any other project and system requirements.
The green energy system deployed by American DG Energy relocates the production of electricity from a large, distant power plant to an appropriately sized, distributed system installed within an individual property. Since our on-site energy systems have greater efficiency and can operate 24 hours per day, the potential carbon reduction is greater than most other energy technologies. For example, a standard utility power plant is often only 33% efficient, while our standard CHP system approaches 90% efficiency. A typical CHP system deployed by American DG Energy at a single property can offset over 1,200 tons of CO2, which is the equivalent of planting 300 acres of forest land or eliminating the emissions of over 190 automobiles. American DG Energy has been recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency for its carbon reduction efforts. These carbon offsets can earn carbon credits which are monetized in some markets.
